Pluimgras / Pennisetum / Lampepoetsersgras
Many times grasses stay unnoticed. Especially surrounded by beautiful coloured flowers like Poppy they play a humble role in a field of wild flowers. But if you take a closer look you can see so much detail and they have so many tones of greyish green to deep red purple. And they do great as a cyanotype.
Kozo paper
For this grass cyanotype I used kozo paper. It is handmade in Japan. Lightweight and it stays strong even when wetted. Kozo (Mulberry) bark became a cultivated plant used especially for paper and cloth making. With its long fibers, 100% Kozo papers are strong and durable and commonly used for woodblock and other printmaking like cyanotypes.
About Framing
This custom made wooden frame has elevated clarity glass creating 20mm distance between the glass and the artwork. The clarity glass protects the artwork without doing harm to the tangibility of the beautiful Japanese Kozo paper.
